Rembrandt and Degas:Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man
February 23-May 20, 2012, a new show can be seen at the, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rembrandt and Degas:Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. the show is organized by the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and proposes that Degas found in Rembrandt a kindred spirit who inspired many of his works. The exhibit shows side by side the self-portraits made by Rembrandt van Rijn and those of Edgar Degas. The show highlights the influence the Dutch master had on the French impressionist. You can read more about the show in the The Rijksmuseum Bulletin, available at the museum.
