The Lively Morgue: New York Times Launches Tumblr for Historic Photo Archive

The New York Times has launched a new Tumblr site called “The Lively Morgue." The site was developed to bring the newspaper's archive to the public. The archive is massive and contains about five to six million print and contact sheets. Each week they’ll be sharing several historical photographs found in their massive collection. Along with each image, the newspaper is also publishing an image of the reverse side of each print, revealing photographer notes and when the image was used. Read the whole article at, The Lively Morgue.
