R. Crumb: An Artist’s Journey From Comic Books to Museum Walls

R.Crumb the shy American artist has his first museum retrospective. Shy he may be, but he attended his opening at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Entitled “Crumb, From the Underground to Genesis,” it is an exhibition covering nearly five decades of his work.

If you are in Paris, the exhibition runs through august 19, 2012. The exhibit opens with greeting cards that he created for the American Greetings Corporation in Cleveland. More than 700 drawings and 200 underground magazines, many from Mr. Crumb’s private collection can be viewed.
