ARTube is a video channel out of the Netherlands. Five museums are involved in the project, including The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, M HKA in Antwerp, Gemeentemuseum in The Hague, De Pont in Tilburg and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. Each museum focuses on different areas and the videos will allow them to publish videos highlighting their special collections.
The museums will offer viewers videos from how an installation is put together to restoration of art works, to focusing on a specific artist. The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam just went under a renovation and expanded with a new futuristic wing. They just reopened on September 23 to display the huge collection it holds. With ARTube they will be able to bring attention to their collections and show it it those unable to visit.The content on arttube is almost entirely bilingual; most of the Dutch content is available in English.
