MTV is partnering with MoMA PS1 and Creative Time to bring a new video series to its audiences. Curated by both MoMA PS1 and Creative Time, the series is called ArtBreaks. The videos will debut on MTV. MTV.com, MTV´s Facebook page and a dedicated MTV tumblr page. Views can see them beginning Monday, April 2 and throughout 2012. ArtBreaks will feature groundbreaking video artists. The first five videos in the series will come from Mickalene Thomas, Rashaad Newsome, Tala Madani, Mads Lynnerup, and Jani Ruscica.
MoMA PS1 is a nonprofit artistic laboratory that devotes all of its time to exhibiting rather than collecting. They are known for displaying experimental art and as an advocate for new technologies, artists, and trends. It was founded in 1971 as an organization devoted to organizing exhibitions in underutilized and abandoned spaces across New York City. In 2000, P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center became an affiliate of The Museum of Modern Art.
